That everyone who thirsteth for the truth may obtain it, these publications are, as a Christian service, provided without charge. They levy but one exaction: the soul's obligation to itself to prove all things and hold fast to that which is good. The only strings attached to this free proffer are the golden strands of Eden and the crimson cords of Calvary - the ties that bind.
Davidian Branch Davidian SDA was the original name of David Koresh's group. He later unlawfully took our name, Branch Davidian Seventh Day Adventists, and property. The story of Koresh's attack upon our church is contained in the Warfare presentation below. This site presents the true teachings of the Branch message.
The basic aim of this testimony is to show that Vernon Howell* (later known as David Koresh*) and his followers left the authentic Branch Davidian Seventh Day Adventists Association (aka, "The Branch"), ...as a new, distinct movement which abandoned most of the fundamental principles and practices of the true movement.
While scientists of many persuasions have been reporting their observations that the earth's temperature is rising, and that, in conjunction with that, the polar ice caps and glaciers world-wide are melting at an accelerating, exponential rate, there are differences of opinion as to why this is happening. The controversies revolve around the many theories regarding the earth's origin, history, and man's influence on the environment.
The types and ceremonies of the ceremonial law of Moses, the literal performance of which were to be discontinued because of the death of Christ, were not then actually abolished, but, rather, were at that time changed. This is because some of them had then received their antitypical fulfillment, while others are even now receiving their antitypical fulfillment in the ministration of Christ in the heavenly Sanctuary, and that of the Holy Spirit here on earth, and others are yet to receive their antitypical fulfillment in the future;
Among the many non-religious and so-called scientific concepts put forth which attempt to explain the origin of all things (such as the Big Bang theory, and the theory of Evolution, etc.), none address the most fundamental phenomenon of life — that is, the reason for, or the cause of gender and love.
In this age of extremes in diet and lifestyle, when "every wind of doctrine" is blowing, and when natural processes and cycles are being disregarded by many health professionals and researchers, a review of some of the fundamentals of life is most timely and will help us keep our feet directed forward towards our ultimate destination – Eden restored. Besides enjoying the abundance of the things of the garden, Adam and Eve enjoyed open communion with God. So, along with looking at the dietary aspects of our physical life, we will also behold that which nourishes our spirits, thus abundantly satisfying our hearts, minds, and bodies.
Angels that were loyal and true sought to reconcile this mighty, rebellious angel to the will of his Creator. They justified the act of God in conferring honor upon Christ, and with forcible reasoning sought to convince Lucifer that no less honor was his now than before the Father had proclaimed the honor which He had conferred upon His Son. They clearly set forth that Christ was the Son of God, existing with Him before the angels were created; and that He had ever stood at the right hand of God... Lucifer refused to listen. ...he flattered himself that he should yet have all the angels on his side, and that he would be equal with God Himself.
Study Aim - To show that God foreknew the major developments and defeats, not only in ancient Israel, but in the Advent movement, and that He has had his prophets write of them - be they good or bad. This 16th chapter of Ezekiel presents a sad view of the backslidings of God's Covenant people from the time of Abraham's calling, through the falling away of the early church, and to final establishment of the "everlasting Covenant" with the repentant remnant.
There appeared in Endtime Issues Newsletter, No. 112, March, 2004, an article written by Samuele Bacchiocchi, Ph.D., Retired Professor of Theology, Andrews University, with minor editing by Richard C. Nickels, entitled, Mel Gibson's Slaughter of Christ. The article is a review of the movie The Passion of Christ, made by Mel Gibson - an actor, producer, and staunch Roman Catholic.
Premise: That due to the falling away the God's church experienced in the centuries following Christ's ascension, the church became as the valley of dry bones depicted in this portion of Ezekiel's prophecy; and the resurrection therein seen, point by point, is a representation of the church's spiritual restoration, culminating in her becoming wide awake, fully alive, Spirit-filled "fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners" (Song 6:10) - a mighty army going into all the world, "conquering and to conquer."
Study Aim: To reveal the "hidden manna" (Revelation 2:17) of what dung is used to represent in certain Biblical symbolisms - specifically, Numbers 19 (the sacrifice of the Red Heifer), and Ezekiel chapter 4.
In 2005 many Christians will be celebrating Easter Sunday on March 27, according to the calculations and command of the Roman Catholic Church. What is significant about this is that the day they will be celebrating will be about a month before the time of Passover - the actual time when Christ died and was resurrected. This discrepancy doesn't make much difference to most of the professed Christians, for, after all, they are already accepting Rome's declarations concerning Sunday keeping, and many other ordinances, including celebrating as Christ's birthday a day which is not even close, that is, December 25.
Question: Since most churches believe that in the statement, "As often as ye do this," there is no command how often it should be done, on what authority do you base the teaching that it should be done every day, and every meal?
Answer: Most Bible students and scholars agree that the only true way to understand Scriptural statements is to view them in the context of the times and the practices of the people to whom the statements were made. Likewise, scholars, both Jewish end Christian, acknowledge that it was the common practice of the Israelites to take their daily bread, pronounce a blessing, and then break the bread and distribute it to those present. They also would take the cup of their meals, pronounce another blessing and pass it also.
In the establishment of the remnant church God chose a young woman, Ellen G. White, to be His messenger. At that time women were not thought of as being used by God in any position of leadership in the ministry of the gospel. This thinking God had to correct.
In the past few decades much of the world has become aware of the plight of women world-wide who are abused and persecuted within their own societies, homes, and religious communities. In 1993 an article appeared in the May, 1993 issue of The Advent Review, North American Edition, on page 15, entitled The Feminization of Poverty, by Ramona Perez-Greek. After having read the article, and finding that it stopped short of addressing the real issue underlying the warfare against women, and the resulting poverty they experience, I was moved to write a response to that article.
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him,and will sup with him, and he with me." Rev. 3:20
"The ordinances that point to our Lord's humiliation and suffering are regarded too much as a form. They were instituted for a purpose ....
"The bread we eat is the purchase of his broken body. The water we drink is bought by his spilled blood. Never one, saint or sinner, eats his daily food, but he is nourished by the body and blood of Christ. The cross of Calvary is stamped on every loaf. It is reflected in every water spring. All this Christ has taught in appointing the emblems of His great sacrifice.
"The light shining from that Communion service in the upper chamber makes sacred the provisions for our daily life. The family board becomes as the table of the Lord, and every meal a sacrament." Desire of Ages, p. 660.
Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it: Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls, by their righteousness, saith the Lord God.
"The Communion service points to Christ's second coming. It was designed to keep this hope vivid in the minds of the disciples. Whenever they met together to commemorate His death, they recount how "He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.' In their tribulation they found comfort in the hope of their Lord's return. Unspeakably precious to them was the thought, 'As often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till He come.' 1Cor. 11:26.
"And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with His glory. And He cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen..." Rev. 18:1,2.
"This scripture (Rev. 18:1,2,4) points toward to a time when the announcement of the fall of Babylon, as made by the second angel of Revelation 14, is to be repeated, WITH THE ADDITIONAL MENTION OF THE CORRUPTIONS WHICH HAVE BEEN ENTERING THE VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS THAT CONSTITUTE BABYLON, SINCE THAT MESSAGE WAS FIRST GIVEN, in the summer of 1844," The Great Controversy, p. 603.
Divorce, re-marriage, re-divorce, homosexuality, self abuse, uncleanness of all types, in the churches, in the ministry? Of nearly all churches? All on the rise since 1844.
One of the greatest losses which the church of God has suffered as a result of the separation from the "most sacred tongue in the world," Hebrew, was the loss of the gender represented therein. Though there is what is known as a "common" gender in Hebrew (which is usually expressed in the feminine), there is no absolute "neuter" gender expressed in Hebrew as there is in Greek and other languages. Many people have been led to mock the idea of inanimate objects, and even expressions having gender assigned to them. But ridicule of the things that God has appointed is not inspired of the Holy Spirit who "moved" the "holy men" of old to use gender when writing the things of His Holy Word.
Fashion is deteriorating the intellect and eating out the spirituality of our people. Obedience to fashion is pervading our Seventh-Day Adventist churches and doing more than any other power to separate our people from God. ...We must arise at once and close the door against the allurements of fashion.
Study Aim: To show that the principle of love has both masculine and feminine qualities, and that the feminine ones, though of equal importance to our salvation, are usually the ones least appreciated and the least put into practice.
"Happy is the man who finds Wisdom... Length of days is in Her right hand. in Her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are the ways of pleasantness, and all Her paths are peace. She is a Tree of Life to those who take hold of Her, and happy are all who retain Her" Proverbs 3:13,16-18.
This statement was made by John the Baptist to reveal that the fulfillment of all that the law had prophesied of the promised sacrifice for the sins of man was about to take place, for the One who was promised was there. Why didn't John say behold the "he-goat," or the "bullock," or the "ram," or for that matter the "ewe lamb," the "she-goat," the "pigeon," the "turtledove," or the "flour," for these were also means of atonement for sin?
The placing of the blood upon the four horns of the altars was designed to teach an important lesson in regard to the atonement for sin, and the Day of Atonement. It is through the blood of the sin offering that the sin was transferred from the sinner to the sanctuary. Why is the blood of the sin offerings transferred specifically to the four horns? What does a horn symbolize? Why are there four horns?
In the King James version of the New Testament, there appear the words "Holy Spirit," and "Holy Ghost." The words "Spirit" and "Ghost" are both translated from the same Greek word, pneuma. This has been a puzzlement to many students of the Bible; Why did the translators use the two different words "Spirit" and "Ghost," for the one Greek word? The answer is rather simple, though understanding it may be a different matter.
As Adventists our understanding has been that the seven thunders are "a delineation of events which would transpire under the first and second angel's messages," (SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 7, p. 971). This statement by Ellen White is based on the fact that John heard the seven thunders right after the angel of Revelation 10 had placed his feet on the sea and on the earth which, to Adventists, represents the worldwide work of the first and second angels' messages. But that is not the fullness of the matter.
"COME IN," SHE SAID, "I'LL GIVE YOU SHELTER FROM THE STORM" from Blood on the Tracks, by Bob Dylan
"How often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings." Luke 13:34.
"As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them upon her wings: So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god [el, in Hebrew] with him....then he forsook God [Eloah, feminine in Hebrew] who made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation....They sacrificed unto devils, not to God [Eloah, feminine in Hebrew] ....Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee." Deuteronomy 32:11,12,15,17,18.
There has been, and continues to be, a controversy regarding how the early Adventists settled on Oct. 22 as the Day of Atonement in 1844. As will be seen herein, there is only one explanation, and that being that they used the Calendar in the Heavens, according to the only Biblical method for determining the feast days.
For centuries, even millennia, most all of those who have thought to keep the Biblical requirement of putting away all leaven out of their houses in order to properly keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread have done so at the direction of the rabbis (men), rather than according to God's own decree.
The following presentation concerns another aspect in the warfare against the Branch Davidian Seventh Day Adventists. It specifically addresses issues which directly pertain to why there are both Davidian, and Branch Davidian, Seventh Day Adventists. Though it involves some fairly contemporary publications by some professing to be leaders among the Davidians, the controversy dates back nearly fifty years. As the somewhat recent publications bring up many of the issues in the long-running controversy, a response to those articles, such as is contained herein, is a fitting forum to bring to the seeker of Truth an over-all view of the situation and the fundamentals of the controversy.
The Seventh-day Adventists held their 58th General Conference Session from June 30 to July 9 in St. Louis, Missouri. Two Branch literature evangelists, brothers Doug Mitchell and Steve Penners, were present at the conference the whole time. Their report follows.
All holy feast days begin at sundown of the preceding date.
As a New Moon is not visible everywhere throughout the world on the same day, and not visible in some places at all in the days following its first sighting, we will be posting the date of the day of the New Moon based on its first possible sighting in Jerusalem or near that area on the evening before that date, and will be basing the corresponding Feast Days relative to that sighting. We are using the sighting in Jerusalem because we believe that God is in the process of choosing Jerusalem again (Zechariah 1:17; 2:12). If the New Moon is not sighted on the expected day we will post a Correction Notice as soon as we become aware of the situation.
